Tracking developments affecting U.S. importers of Chinese and Southeast Asian Goods.
The United States government panel that is examining a bid by China's CNOOC Ltd. to buy Unocal Corporation has a lot of different aspects to examine. "Taiwan, Japan and (South) Korea all import a significant amount of natural gas that's produced in Indonesia by Unocal," said the lawyer, speaking on condition of anonymity. All the various ways of deciding whether or not to take the bid will determind the outcome.
